01 / Project info

The first manifesto exhibition in MAAT’s new building

Utopia/Dystopia placed artists and architects side by side to examine the tension between optimism and anxiety in periods of technological, political, social and ecological change. More than 60 works and projects created a dialogue spanning ideas and practices from the early 1970s to the present.

02 / The story

A sequence of very different media environments

The exhibition moved continuously between open gallery displays and enclosed audiovisual rooms. Projection, monitors, multi-screen works, headphones and spatial audio all had to operate within the architecture of the new museum while maintaining the specific viewing and listening conditions required by each artwork.

03 / Our work

One exhibition, many independent AV systems

GGS was responsible for audiovisual installation and programming across the exhibition. The work covered the implementation and integration of projection, displays, playback and audio, followed by programming, system testing and commissioning for reliable museum operation.
